Project Details

The Gramophone Emporium was a shop in Stockbridge, Edinburgh. Offering a vast array of rare 78s as well as the technology to play them on, it was thought to be the last shop of its kind in the United Kingdom.

A decision is taken to close the shop and a dedicated group of collectors who regularly meet there to share stories and trade 78s, ponder life without the Gramophone Emporium.

This short documentary captures the days leading up to the closure of the shop and the end of an era in Edinburgh.
